ABOUT ME

   My name is Brooke Farber. I am 17 years old from New City NY, 10956. I have taken ceramics in high school for 3 years now, and hope to continue for atleast one more year. My friends, family, and classmates inspire me for new projects throughout each year. Ceramics appealed to me because I was never great at drawing, and in clay there is not alot of drwing that has to be done. I enjoy working on the wheel, and using slab construction. My favorite project this year is my final one, and I enjoy using Earthenware clay, and Porcelain. I look forward to taking clay next year and making more unique projects.

Ephemeral Art Project picture # 1

This image is the first of three images, and is my Ephemeral art project. My project is showing a snowball (Snowy) with all of his friends. All of Snowy’s friends are going to be leaving for the summer, because it’s too hot and they will melt. For the first photo, I showed Snowy not being able to go in the car with them, and being left all alone here.

Snowy is now left all alone and is getting worried because the weather is starting to get warmer. In the background of this photo, I showed a girl looking at Snowy, but Snowy does not notice her and is very nervous about the summer time.

For the third and final photo, I showed the little girl holding the snowball, putting him inside her freezer to keep him cold and safe. The beginning of my visual story is sad and upsetting, but then the end is happy because he finds someone who will take care of him, and keep him cold.

Mask

The medium is Ceramic, Glaze, Zipper, and Stain. The meaning behind my mask is to show how beautiful nature is, and to show how global warming could end it all. The personal connection to me is that I love nature, and love the outdoors, and want to end Global warming. The mask I wear is that I love nature, and want to keep it beautiful. The dimensions are as follows : Height= 10.5 inches Length=10.5 inches Width=8.6 inches
